Home from the holidays and back in the burying business

The holiday was great. In short: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, fishing, bathing, relax, relax, relax. I took pictures of course - when I remembered, but since the "relax"-aspect of the holiday was very important and quite all-consuming there aren't too many. Also my old laptop isn't the greatest to edit pictures on either, but they will be forthcoming as soon as I am able to make them more manageable in size. Look forwards to the mummified cat!

Else, in the burying business the good news is that my contract has been extended until the end of September, with some hope for an even further extension. The reason for this is that one of my favourite co-workers has gotten a permanent position elsewhere, and dammit I'm going to miss him like - um, well - I am currently trying to make a good excuse to, quite innocently and casually, invite him on a date give him my phone number. (And I haven't done this in years and am hopelessly out of shape, help!) Furthermore yet another of the nicest persons at work is also leaving this week, but I already got her number. Still I worry about the next three weeks when all those who are able to speak without being threatened have left or are on holiday... Oh, woe.

Else, been busy having a social life again, summer holiday seems to be over. Today I went with Siglinde to see the Serbian film A Midwinter Night's Dream, according to her it was about the future of the Balkans, and according to the director that future is hopelessly bleak. Still it was wonderful, although the film was rather depressing, to watch such calm film with understated storytelling. The last few weeks I have watched way too many of those Hollywood with big pictures and a noisy story: Saw The Island Monday, and frankly - pretty bad. How about hiring someone to write some kind of story? That on top of all those other "end of the world &/ superpowers &/ huge explosions"-films has made me more than Hollywood-saturated. Of course, that doesn't stop me having tickets to Sin City this weekend. Hypocrite.
